When Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin were still happily married and he wasn’t constantly snapped out about town, partying with unknown women, Kate was generally considered a shrew. For some reason or another, she came across as too harsh and almost impossible to please, but that’s the exact opposite of how she appeared on CNN’s Larry King Live, where she agreed to do the first interview on her post-Jon life.

Ever since the couple announced their separation on “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” Kate has constantly been seen at her children’s side, while the same cannot be said about Jon. Speaking with King, the mother of eight stressed just how important the eight children she had with Jon were to her, having become her first priority at the moment. For all she cares, even if she’s lonely, Kate will continue to stay focused on her children’s future, since she is not in a position to think of her romantic life right now.

“I’m not really worried about it. I’m lonely but I’m very busy. Actually, I’m alright.” Kate said of dating. “I can honestly say that there is so much on my plate now, that I absolutely cannot react that way to every little thing that comes by – or big thing. I’m looking more toward the future and the decisions of today that affect tomorrow, more so than [Jon] is.” she explained of how come she focused on the children, while Jon was openly dating 22-year-old Hailey Glassman and showing clear signs that starting over with his love life was the first place where he wanted to start.

As regards rumors that Jon might be leaving the TLC show, more or less on his own, Kate said that this was not her business, since she could only speak for herself. However, even if her soon to be former husband would soon be fired or choose to leave from the show, she and the kids would continue shooting for it until her contract expired, Kate added.

“Myself and the kids will continue the show. I signed my name to a contract and I am going to do my best to make that work as long as it is healthy and safe for myself and the kids. Jon’s opinions and his goals are his. I know that, personally, for myself and the kids, this has been a good experience. It continues to be a good experience. And, you know, really the network has been extremely supportive, above and beyond, I feel, what they need to be.” Mrs. Gosselin said, adding that the show was the best job that she could have ever asked for.

Also in the same interview, Kate also explained that the kids were OK with their parents’ divorce (as much as any child can be, of course) and that efforts were being made on both sides to help them grasp the reality and come to terms with it quicker.
