Lea Michele does Harper’s Bazaar, speaks of her “unconventional features”

Like many other stars – and not necessarily her age – Lea Michele’s road to fame wasn’t an easy one. The “Glee” star is the cover girl of the latest issues of Harper’s Bazaar, and she uses this opportunity to send out a message to all those who said she couldn’t make it big: “look at me now.”

Though considered a very beautiful woman, Lea isn’t exactly beautiful in the way Hollywood understands beauty.

She knows that and she took a risk when she refused to comply with the norm, she reveals for the magazine.

“How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough’? But I proved them wrong,” she says, speaking of how many times people note her “unconventional” features.

Lea also knows that she stands out from the crowd for her looks, but she doesn’t have an issue with that. Now, thanks to the success of “Glee,” people in the business are also starting to appreciate her for it instead of shunning her.

“I’m five foot three. I don’t look like a lot of other people, you know what I mean? I look like I’m 12,” she says.

Speaking of the success of “Glee,” the star says she believes it’s only the beginning: she wants a successful career and she’s convinced she can do it because she’s willing to work hard at it.

“I don’t stop. It’s my nature. People have to tell me to slow down. I plan on playing every role on Broadway,” she says.

“I want to do Evita. I want to do Sweeney Todd with [Glee costar] Chris Colfer. We want to do Wicked. I’ll be Elphaba and he wants to play ‘Guy-linda.’ I want to do movies, make music. Glee is only the beginning,” Lea stresses.

In the same interview, Lea also talks about her female idols, how Gwyneth Paltrow never ceases to amaze her and how she’s learning the ropes in an industry that’s been described as one of the harshest ever.
