To this day, Kate Moss remains one of the most controversial but incredibly popular models of our times. In her new book, “Kate: The Kate Moss Book,” she talks about rumors of having anorexia and that infamous drug scandal she was involved in.

The Daily Mirror has a few excerpts from the book, in which Kate strongly denies ever having an eating disorder – or a drug problem for that matter.

“If I was anorexic or if I was on heroin, maybe I would have been a bit more ‘oh dear!’” Kate says of being dubbed “heroin chic.”

Her look started an entire “heroin chic” back in the ‘90s, with the fashion industry coming under heavy attack from all sides for promoting an unhealthy and extremely dangerous image as an ideal of beauty.

“But I wasn’t any of those things that they were painting me to be. It didn’t have anything to do with who I was at all, so I never really thought about it. I just thought, the people who know me know the truth,” Kate says.

“I was lucky to be with Johnny [Depp] at that stage. He taught me a lot about fame. He told me ‘never complain, never explain.’ That’s why I don’t use Twitter and things like that. I don’t want people to know what is true all the time and that’s what keeps the mystery,” the model adds.

She doesn’t say a peep about another scandal she was involved in later on, when photos of her snorting cocaine emerged online, earning her the nickname of “Cocaine Kate.”

Also in the book, Kate talks about aging and how it’s never been a major concern for her, in the sense that she’s not losing sleep at the thought that she’s getting wrinkles.

Everything in life changes so of course that her body will too, Kate says.

“Well, I am never going to be 18 again, when I could do shoots with no make-up, but it’s not as though I don’t want to have wrinkles, because I think it’s important to have your own face that you live in. There are always new ways of looking through new eyes. I still don’t feel I’m done — I’m not finished yet,” she explains.
