2010 will mark Jennifer Lopez’s return to the music scene with a new album, “Love?,” and, from what one may infer from her many recent interviews, a new, more positive attitude. Looking back on her career so far, the singer has no regrets as far as her music goes, but the same doesn’t apply for her acting efforts, she tells the February issue of Latina magazine.

In 2007, Lopez and husband Marc Anthony starred together in what was a very hyped project prior to its theatrical release, but that eventually turned out to be a critical and commercial flop, “El Cantante.” All negativism aside, the singer believes her part in the film was massively overlooked by the Academy because, had it been given the proper attention, she could have been nominated for an Oscar, and perhaps even won it.

“I feel like I had that [Oscar worthy role] in ‘El Cantante,’ but I don’t even think the academy members saw it. I feel like it’s their responsibility to do that, to see everything that’s out there, everything that could be great… It’s all good. Things will happen when they’re supposed to happen. I have the utmost faith and no doubt that it will one day, when and if it’s supposed to. You can’t get all crazy twisted over it,” Lopez explains for Latina.

On the bright side, she also says in the same interview that whatever injustice she feels she’s been done in the past only motivates her to work harder. As a rule, Jennifer Lopez does not have any regrets, neither as regards her personal or her professional life, because things that happened in the past are things she can no longer change or turn to her advantage. This is why she can now look back on some of her choices throughout the years and not feel sorry or ashamed for having made them, because she knows they’ve made of her the person and the artist she’s today.

“Exposed? Vulnerable? Do I cringe?” Lopez laughs when Latina asks her of whether she’s sorry for having worked with her ex boyfriends, like Diddy and Ben Afleck. “No, no, it’s a literal snapshot. Every one of my albums is very spot-on with who I was at the time… I can’t regret the things I did in the past, like putting somebody in a video that I was with. Who cares? I think people relate to me because they know that I’m not being phony,” she further says.
