14 DAY TRIAL // Japanese storage company I-O Data has just released external HDD with a huge storage capability and compatibility with various USB-enabled entertainment systems. The new drive is available in four different capacity versions and it uses the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection.
The official name of the new model is HDCA-UT4.0K and this one integrates a 4 TB HDD inside it and weighs 1.1 Kg (2.42 pounds).
1TB , 2TB and 3TB models are also available and I-O Data also touts TV DVR capabilities.
The thing is that the HDCA-UT4.0K itself is not a DVR, but it is compatible with most TVs that have USB recording technology so that when you connect a compatible USB storage device, the TV will be able to record video on it.
The price is slated at a high $496 (385 EUR) for the 4TB version.
