Most of I-O Data's latest releases have been either high-capacity external hard drives or super multi Blu-ray burners but it seems that the company is not neglecting its monitor line. In fact, the hardware maker has only recently unveiled a new liquid crystal display model. The latest in the LCD lineup is the LCD-AD201XG, an efficient monitor that measures 20 inches and offers all the resources required for an option aimed at users in the business sector.

Monitors may come in many shapes and sized and, in the case of the more sophisticated models, manufacturers typically put special emphasis on the stylish design, the dynamic contrast ratio, the color sharpness, overall image quality and any other special feature. In this case, however, I-O Data chose to put together a monitor that is convenient for users in need of efficient devices that do not possess any unnecessary features. As such, the LCD-AD201XG uses a fresh, black-coated design so that it can integrate seamlessly into any environment.

As far as specifications are concerned, the LCD has a 5ms response time and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, with a DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 10,000:1. In addition, the monitor's brightness is of 250 cd/m2.

The LCD display can receive video input through the integrated D-Sub and DVI (HDCP) connectors. Extra features of the device include two 1W speakers and a power consumption of 21W during every day use, with only 0.4 watts consumed when in standby mode. The maximum resolution of the device is 1,600 x 900 pixels.

I-O Data aims to start shipping the LCD-AD201XG display sometime around the end of the ongoing month. The product will, at least initially, only be available in Japan and will carry a price tag of 20,000 Yen (which is roughly around $225). Furthermore, the model is backed by a three-year warranty.
