It looks like the recently unveiled external storage device from I-O Data is only one of the products that the company has prepared, as there are actually two others that got officially introduced.

When it comes to storage devices, I-O Data is one of those companies that arguably has a tendency towards releasing multiple drives at once.

In fact, as is often the case with many a rival in this sector, not only do whole series of HDDs, SSDs, flash drives or whatever else debut, but sometimes different types of products come out at once.

One could say that this is exactly what I-O Data made happen recently, as the HDCA-UT that we covered here did not emerge alone.

In fact, as a contrast to its lack of actual portability (the HDCA-UT is an external HDD), I-O Data presented the HDPC-AU.

Also a hard disk drive, the newcomer is different even just because of its size and weight, those being 75(W)x 112(D)x 14(H) mm and 350 grams, respectively. Essentially, it is portable.

As far as capacities go, there is a 320 GB model, one with 500 GB, a 640 GB one and even a unit with internal space of 750 GB.

What's more, the portable HDDs have five color options, meaning that their cases can be black, white, blue, red or brown.

The other device series that I-O Data unveiled is of an even more portable sort and uses NAND Flash memory chips instead of platters.

Dubbed TB-XT, the newcomers are, essentially, flash drive units that weigh 19 grams each and measure 18.0(W) x 69.6(D) x 8.6(H) mm. Available storage options are 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB.

The I-O Data HDPC-AU are described in detail on this official web page, while the TB-XT have their own product page here. They should already be selling, in Japan at least.
