Being the maker of multiple sorts of hardware products that it is, I-O Data has been working on more than one project, this once unleashing what can be seen as a fairly energy efficient monitor.

Nowadays, Full HD image quality has more or less become the norm for the consumer display market, at least as far as products that get their own press releases go.

As such, it is no surprise to learn that the new LCD monitor from I-O Data supports that quality, otherwise known as the resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

This is one of multiple products that the company unleashed over the past couple of days, another being a 12x USB 3.0 Blu-ray writer.

The monitor is a 23.6-inch panel that utilizes the WLED backlighting technology and, overall, consumes just 16.8W of power during regular use and 0.7W in standby mode.

Granted, when pushed to the maximum, the display can go higher, but even then power draw will not exceed 25W.

That said, the other specifications of the product aren't too shabby either, what with the brightness of 300 cd/m2 (mostly owed to the backlight) and the contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio/DCR).

Additionally, to ensure compatibility with various motherboards, graphics cards and laptops (when applicable), the I-O Data LCD-MF241CBR, as it is called, features D-Sub connectivity, plus DVI and HDMI.

Other specifications include a 3.5 mm audio jack, a response time of 5ms and a pair of built-in 1W speakers, all in a frame whose thickness is of 2cm.

Users that might want to acquire the newcomer will have to be willing to part with the sum of $343.

All in all, this product should prove quite convenient for any users that want energy efficiency without having to pay too much or sacrifice image quality.
