YouTube seems to get more and more involved in sports as the video service announced an interesting partnership with Chelsea FC to provide a special website containing the latest news and other information about the football club. Today, the company published a press release to announce a new partnership with NBA (National Basketball Association) to provide quick access to basketball videos as well as to allow users from all around the world to upload their own video clips with the best basketball moves.

"YouTube and the NBA have extended their partnership beyond video footage and community building. As part of the agreement, the NBA will join the growing number of content partners taking advantage of YouTube's "Claim Your Content" program. This features a content identification and reporting system for user uploaded videos, allowing the league to identify its copyrighted content. The NBA will have the option to remove content from YouTube or share in the advertising revenue generated, if any," the company sustained in a press release.

The partnership between YouTube and NBA created a new page on the video service that provides instant access to the latest news about basketball through attracting movies. Although the service is not so popular, the new basketball page is very similar with the one designed for the Chelsea FC partnership, containing almost the same elements: design, videos and information.

It seems like the agreement will also change the AdSense functionality because Google plans to offer NBA-related adverts on registered users' page through the advertising platform. "As part of this test, publishers small and large, cutting across a variety of categories, will receive syndicated clips of top-flight NBA action," it is mentioned in the press release.
