Brides go back to roots, choosing farms as the perfect wedding location

Daisies replacing roses, simple lace dresses instead of flashy designer gowns, a hay field over a big ballroom: these are just some of the features a Farm Wedding brings. The wedding industry has been inspired by rustic celebrations for a while now, farms and barns becoming the icing of the cake.

Whether it's a barn or a hay field, or even a dairy farm, we can't deny that it gives weddings a special something. People are starting to choose simpler, healthier, closer to nature ways of celebrating that special day. And what's healthier and closer to nature than a farm?

Farms truly give a different perspective to weddings, not just a beautiful wedding picture background. Farms are known for celebrating hard work and commitment, both to nature and family, thus holding a great significance for the newlyweds.

Most farm-themed weddings are focused on that simple wooden barn covered with string lights that give a certain romantic effect to the outdoor dance floor. Just imagine that green grass, with vintage pieces of furniture and wooden signs directing guests to the ceremony scattered about, and the soon-to-be husband and wife to their lifetime together.

However, the décor is not everything, because a lot of interest is also given to the menu, which has to have simple, organic ingredients cooked in a traditional way so that everything can be in perfect balance.

The good news with this type of wedding is that the newlyweds don't need such a big budget and they are not the only ones profiting from the trend. Farmers all around the world are making their businesses available for tying the knot.

According to the Modern Farmer, the farmer's cut for hosting a wedding on their property is around $2,500 – 4,000 (€1,800 – 3,000).

Celebrities are also adopting the trend. Anne Hathaway' Big Sur Wedding or Kate Bosworth's Montana Wedding featured that rustic chic style that only a farm as location can give.

Kelly Clarkson also enjoyed her own farm-themed ceremony at a private Blackberry Farm in Tennessee last month. Her music video for the latest single “Tie It Up” is also about a couple getting married at a farm in California.

Everyone seems to be in a farm wedding frenzy at the moment.
