Things are getting darker in the already tragic affair involving Hulk Hogan's son, Nick, and the car accident in which he was involved at the end of August. At the time, Nick crashed his Toyota Supra into a palm tree in Clearwater, Florida, and while he got away with just a few scratches, his friend John Graziano, who was in the passenger seat at the time of the crash, ended up almost brain dead and in critical condition (in a coma) at the James Haley V.A. Hospital in Tampa.
The big question was - and still is - whether Nick was racing at the time when he lost control of his car and crashed it. All evidence seems to point towards the fact that yes, he was racing (otherwise I can't explain why Nick was arrested two weeks ago), and now even more startling evidence has come to light that seems to prove that, despite being very outspoken against car racing ever since the accident, other members of Nick's family were caught on tape while actually doing it.
No wonder young Nick was fond of speed and fancied himself a race car driver in the making. In case you were wondering just where he got it all from, well...he got it from his mother and sister. Action News Investigators for the ABC channel have reportedly got their hands on a DVD which might show a different side of the story than the one emerging from the Hogan's post-crash press statements. The documentary is shot in 2005 and called "Vehicular Lunatics". It was filmed in Florida (anyone else sees the irony in that?) and features an "extra" called "Street Racing With Linda Hogan Bollea". Which as we all know is none other than Nick's mother.
In the short film, Linda can be seen driving a car identified as a Mercedes S600 (with daughter Brooke in the passenger seat - now that's a nice little family reunion) and pulling up next to another car. "Brooke says to the men in the adjacent car, "Wanna race?" One of the men replies, "Yeah! We love racing you! On three." Brooke replies, "Let's do this. Alright." Then
Linda Bollea says "Let's kick it." "The cars take off, but their speeds are not known", is stated on the ABC website. What's even more startling is that when asked how she feels about drag racing, Linda Hogan says: "Oh, I love it. I love it. The rush, the speed on the road, stereo blasting, heart-pounding, racing in between all the cars, dodging the cops. It's awesome."
So in case you were wondering what kind of parents the Hogans are, here is your answer. They have been irresponsible every step of the way, engaging in racing themselves, fostering Nick's passion for speed and buying him an expensive car to go with it, and finally (the dirtiest move so far) issuing a statement right after Nick's arrest in which they pointed the finger of blame at their son's gravely injured friend for not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Someone should put all that family in jail. Can they arrest Brook just for looking trashy?
