14 DAY TRIAL // Last week, I chronicled the journey of a receipt that went viral on Reddit, cost a waitress her job and the Applebee's chain a few customers.
The waitress posted the receipt of a man identifying himself as a pastor on Reddit. He refused paying the auto-tip assigned to his bill.
The client complained to Applebee's, and the waitress was terminated. Unfortunately for the company, many loyal customers weren't pleased by the decision. According to the Huffington Post, the man has since been identified as Pastor Alois Bell of St. Louis.
This week, another client responds with a spoof of the original receipt. The message pokes fun at the pastor's excuse for not leaving a tip.
“I give God 0%, so you get 28%,” it reads.
[Update, February 8 2013]: The blog post above erroneously states that the pastor mentioning God on an Applebee's receipt is a man. As noted by a reader, Alois Bell is a female pastor. According to Patheos, she heads the World Deliverance Ministries Church in St. Louis.
