Footage of the aftermath of a deadly crash involving a church bus on the I-40 has emerged online. Eight people have died and 14 others have been injured in the accident.

In the news report posted above, you can observe the gruesome scene on the Interstate. The bus was returning to the Front Street Baptist Church in Statesville, North Carolina when it slammed into a truck and a third car.

Knox News informs that six of the fatalities are passengers on the bus. They were killed after a church outing to the annual Fall Jubilee in Gatlinburg.

The other two victims were the drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the collision. One of them was driving the semi-truck while the other was behind the wheel of a Chevy Tahoe.

“In my 17 years, this is probably the most serious incident I’ve been a part of,” Bill Miller, public information officer for the Tennessee Highway Patrol, has expressed.
