The car manufacturer hopes to install 40,000 solar photovoltaic modules by the end of 2013

Following their announcing that they wish to install South Korea's largest solar power plant, few can argue against the fact that Hyundai really means business when it comes to fighting back climate change and global warming.

According to Inhabitat, said solar plant is to nest atop the company's plant in Asan. Once up and running, the photovoltaic system will generate 11.5 million kWh of electricity.

Information shared with the public says that solar photovoltaic modules are to be installed on nearly all of the buildings now part and parcel of Hyundai's plant in Asan.

The company hopes that, by the end of 2013, it well have succeeded in installing 40,000 such modules.

According to several estimates, Hyundai's installing this solar power plant will yield environmental benefits similar to planting 1.12 million pine trees.
