The development teams working on Hyrule Warriors at Omega Force and Team Ninja are delivering a new video about their upcoming title which shows off new character Darunia, who is one of the most powerful presences on the battlefield.

The game will mix the world of The Legend of Zelda, one of the best known series from Nintendo, with the core mechanics of Dynasty Warriors, a franchise that emphasizes powerful weapons and huge numbers of enemies that gamers need to take out.

Darunia is taken from Ocarina of Time, where he is the patriarch of the tribe of the Goron and lives on Death Mountain.

His Hyrule Warriors incarnation seems focused on powerful close-range attacks.

He is a tough ruler who bears the burden of looking after his people and can be seen as rude, but Link manages to work with him in order to progress in his own quest, getting access to Goron’s Ruby in the process.

Hyrule Warriors will be offered exclusively on the Wii U home console on August 14 in Japan, and gamers in Europe will get access to it on September 19 while those in North America will have to wait another week for it.
