Hyper for YouTube, formerly known as YouTube RT, is quickly becoming the number one choice of Windows 8 users who wish to watch clips straight from the Modern UI.

An update released today adds options to hide the “Most Popular” and the “Newest Subscriptions” sections, while also moving “Menu” to the first position.

In addition, this build packs bug fixes and updates addressing video playing issues, so everything should now run a bit smoother after deploying this release. On Windows 8, the update is available in the Windows Store, while on Windows 8.1, the new version should be deployed automatically.

Hyper for YouTube continues to be free for all users, with support offered not only for Windows 8, but also for the tablet-oriented Windows RT installed on several devices, such as Microsoft’s own Surface RT.
