A new concept involving two renewable sources sounds good enough to renew the promise of a coal-free future.

The hybrid Marine Solar Cell, developed by Phil Pauley, could harness both solar and wave power at the same time, seeking to be a cost-effective asset in the long term.

At least on paper, the innovative unit is truly efficient and revolutionary. Unlike wind farms or standard PV systems providing a single form of eco-friendly energy, the new smart protoype is expected to combine both sources of power for optimal results.

The solar-wave hybrid will exploit sunlight through solar cells and wave power through natural buoyancy displacement. It  would be perfect for off-shore floating systems.

Furthermore, in an attempt to make clean power even greener, Pauley said the awesome-looking structure, implementable worldwide, could be built using recycled materials.
