Gamers and enthusiasts can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that a 900W 80 PLUS-certified power supply is just about ready for launch. The developers at Huntkey will soon release the X7 all-modular PSU with a wattage of 900W for gaming computers. The PSU is especially designed to provide a stable and sustained power flow to systems with multiple graphics adapters and high-speed central processors for the ultimate gaming experience.

The high efficiency, which earned the device its 80 PLUS Silver certification, is owed to the implementation of the interleaved PFC and phase-shifted full-bridge. The X7 usable in PC, IPC, workstation and server systems has a strict voltage regulation (±3%) and enables superior performance thanks to its five +12V rails. It is able to operate on input voltages ranging between 90Vand 264V and a frequency of 47-63Hz. Power efficiency is 88% during typical loads and, when in standby mode, power consumption can drop under 1W.

The product fully supports Intel and AMD dual core and multi core central processing units and will perform well in SLI or Crossfire multi-GPU scenarios thanks to the aforementioned five 12V rails. One rail powers the CPU, one handles the hard drives and the remaining three support the graphics cards.

As extra details, the PSU is compliant with the Intel ATX12V V2.3 and EPS12V V2.92 specifications and boasts an active PFC with a Power Factor (at normal input voltage and full load), ≥99%. The turn on time is 500ms (max) and the operational temperature may range between 0℃ and +50℃. The X7 PSU has an estimated mean time before failure (MTBF) of 100,000 hours and is capable of running quietly (depending on the workload) due to the intelligent-thermal fan control technology. The PSU has even received UL, CE, CB and FCC safety approvals.

Unfortunately, the company has, as of yet, made no mention of the exact launch date nor has it indicated the estimated retail price.
