Just a few days ago, a deer living in a forest in the US attacked a man and injured him badly enough to put him in the hospital. The thing is that, as it turns out, this incident wasn't really the deer's fault.

In a nutshell, word has it that the herbivore only turned against the man because the latter saw fit to shoot it with an arrow. Apparently, some of the deer currently populating the wild are seriously feisty fellows and should not be messed with.

When Bambi's siblings go bananas

The man's dangerously close encounter with the deer with a thirst for vengeance occurred this past January 2. On that day, the hunter, whose identity remains a mystery, went for a walk in a forested area in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

The 72-year-old took a bow and some arrows with him, and the moment he laid eyes on the deer, he shot it. Once injured, the animal made a run for it. The man decided not to abandon the hunt and went looking for his prey.

However, things did not play out quite as the hunter expected. Thus, he failed to locate the herbivore. Instead, the deer found him, and having conjured up all its might and strength, it jumped from some bushes and attacked him.

It is understood that the animal used its strong head to hit the 72-year-old man in the leg. The blow was powerful enough to seriously injure the hunter and force him to seek medical care. Simply put, the man had to be rushed to the nearest hospital.

For the time being, the doctors in charge of handling this case have refused to make any comments concerning the man's condition, Huffington Post informs. One can only hope that the hunter will manage to pull through and make a full recovery.

In case anyone was wondering, it is unclear whether the deer eventually managed to shake off the arrow that the 72-year-old shot at it. Wildlife experts say that, without the arrow embedded in its body, the animal might recover from its injuries.

Hunting is a tricky sport

By the looks of it, plenty of deer, wild turkey, pheasant and other creatures populate forests in Fond du Lac County. Hence, hunters visit the area as often as they get the chance.

Following this incident, local authorities recommend that people who decide to go hunting in the region keep in mind that wild animals are fairly unpredictable and that it's best to be extremely cautious when entering their territory and approaching them.
