The "miracle" was performed by pastor Matt Carter

A clip which shows something I find hard to believe has been posted on YouTube. On May 13, the Austin Stone Church uploaded a clip of a man catching a bird using only his hand.

The uploader, a representative of a church, describes that the protagonist was quail hunting with buddies when this clip was captured.

The man in the video only needs one hand to catch a quail. He is identified by Grind TV as senior pastor Matt Carter, who was apparently on a hunting trip with NFL quarterback Colt McCoy in South Texas.

This clip has gone viral at almost 50,000 views but the question remains – is it real?

“It is totally real. While filming [the church uses creative storytelling, including films, to spread the gospel], inexplicably this bird takes off and stupidly flies right at Matt, and he grabbed it."

“It’s unbelievable,” argues Travis Wussow, executive director of teaching ministries at Austin Stone Church.

Admittedly, birds aren't the smartest of creatures. Not by a long shot. Mind you, there's a very good reason telling somebody they have the brain of a chicken counts as an insult.

All the same, it doubtful a wild bird would ever fly straight at a human. And even if it did, it's even harder to believe this human's reflexes would be superhero-like enough for them to capture the feathered creature with their bare hands.
