While enjoying a quiet walk with her pet dog, a woman named Leda Olmsted came across hundreds of massive ice boulders which were merely resting on the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in northern Michigan.

Luckily for us, Leda Olmsted snapped some pictures of these peculiar ice rocks and posted them online.

Soon enough, the images went viral, seeing how massive ice boulders really aren't something one can expect to see on a fairly regular basis.

As Leda herself told members of the press, “I thought it was the coolest thing ever especially since I've never seen anything like it.”

Specialists explain that these massive boulders used to be mere chunks of ice which had broken off from the floes now floating over Lake Michigan, and that their now being almost perfectly spherical is a result of their being modeled by the waves and the wind.
