Just recently, a humpback whale traveling to warmer northern waters ended up beached in a seaside swimming pool near Sydney, Australia.

Witnesses claim that the marine mammal was as big as a London bus, so little could be done to help it get back to sea.

Apparently, although a chain safety fence has been installed in this part of the world precisely to prevent such accidents from occurring, the humpback whale must have somehow gotten over it.

It is quite likely that a high tide is what brought it in the seaside swimming pool where it eventually died.

For the time being, nobody can say for sure what caused the whale to be separated from its pod. Regardless of this, authorities must now work towards removing the carcass, so as to avoid potential threats to public health.
