Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is gearing up for the release of a new series of handsets in the beginning of the next year, all powered by the company’s new BlackBerry 10 operating system.

Nothing has been officially confirmed on what these devices might include at the time of launch, yet RIM has suggested numerous times that they would be like nothing we’ve seen before in the BlackBerry world.

Coming from The Rick Mercer Report, a new video on YouTube is meant to make fun of RIM’s efforts on the smartphone area by presenting “the new BlackBerry Outàge.”

What defines the new device, according to the video, can be resumed in one phrase: “it does all that the iPhone can, and conveniently goes out of service in Africa and Europe, occasionally. […] It keeps you on the move.”

Have a look at the video embedded above, for it might make you smile a bit.
