As any other fan of action movies, I love me some Jason Statham, but I would be lying if I said his most recent releases have been even close to memorable. “Hummingbird” promises to make all the difference.

Check out the first trailer for it above.

In “Hummingbird,” Statham plays an ex-military man who roams the streets of London hoping to escape memories that are simply too painful to accept.

Chance makes it possible for him to assume the identity of another man, which is when he realizes this could be his ticket out of a life he no longer wants.

As it happens, the decision only gets him into even more trouble.

“Hummingbird” is the directorial debut of Steven Knight, who penned the critically acclaimed “Eastern Promises” and “Dirty Pretty Things” and, by the looks of the trailer, promises to offer a solid action flick without sacrificing style for substance.

It will be out in the UK this May but doesn’t have a US release date yet.
