14 DAY TRIAL // The Humble Bundle is back with five new games, two of which are never-released titles. Three are Mac-compatible, and you get to set the price for your purchase, and determine who gets what of your ‘donation.’
Frozenbyte, an independent game development company, presents the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle: “Pay what you want. If you bought these four games separately, it would cost around $50 but we're letting you set the price!”
“All of the games work great on Mac, Windows, and Linux,” the sponsors note, though the advertisement posted to YouTube says one of the bundled games is Windows only.
“We don't use DRM,” Frozenbyte continues. “When you buy these games, they are yours. Feel free to play them without an internet connection, back them up, and install them on all of your Macs and PCs freely. There is no time-limit on your downloads.”
By purchasing the Humble Bundle for as little as 10 bucks, gamers can choose to support charity, donate the money to Frozenbyte, or support Humble Bundle, Inc. itself.
The form used to complete the purchase features sliders that gamers can use to visually divide the amount of cash going to the various parties chosen as beneficiaries.
“You can support charity,” say the folks at Humble Bundle Inc. “Choose exactly how your purchase is divided: Between Frozenbyte, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, or the Child's Play Charity. Also, if you like this deal, a tip to the Humble Bundle itself would be much appreciated!”
The games included in the bundle are Trine, Shadowgrounds, Shadowgrounds: Survivor, Splot and Jack Claw.
While the first three are “very polished games and ready to play on all platforms,” the Splot and Jack Claw bonuses are different, the Humble Bundle folks explain.
Splot is still to be physically added to the bundle, as the game is under development. From a visual standpoint, the game seems promising, and should make a splash on iOS platforms as well.
Jack Claw is a prototype. Frozenbyte canceled it development on the game before completion.
