14 DAY TRIAL // Restaurants have been known to serve some really weird dishes in an attempt to draw in more customers, but it would appear that an eatery in Anambra, Nigeria took the idea of offering foodies a unique experience to a whole new level when it started offering cooked human flesh.
Media reports say that the restaurant in question, said to be located inside a hotel, received a fairly unexpected visit from local police officers earlier this week.
The raid was carried out in response to complaints filed by people living in the area, who said that, as far as they could tell, shabby-looking people were a common sight at this establishment.
According to Mirror, it was thus discovered that the restaurant offered its customers dishes whose main ingredient was human flesh.
Besides, word has it that these odd dishes were rather expensive, at least when compared to the usual treats one would expect to find listed in a restaurant menu.
Interestingly enough, it would appear that some of the people who had the chance to give these gruesome dishes a try did not even know what exactly was on their plate.
“I ate at the restaurant and the bill was very high. The workers told me that I ate human flesh. I was shocked,” a pastor told the press.
“We always saw weird people coming and going,” added a man living in the area.
During the raid, police officers came across two severed human heads, both of which were carefully wrapped in a cellophane bag.
They also found two AK-47 guns, several other weapons, lots of ammunition and an impressive number of mobile phones.
In the aftermath of the startling discoveries made at this restaurant, the facility was shut down, and eleven people were taken into police custody. One of these individuals is said to be the establishment's owner.
An investigation is currently underway, and authorities hope they will soon be able to determine how it was that the Nigerian restaurant started serving its customers cooked human flesh.
