Hulk Hogan's son Nick Bollea was arrested on Wednesday morning after turning himself in for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. But news has come out that there's more to it - and apparently, Nick was also charged with operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher (while being under 21) and use of a motor vehicle in commission of a felony. So in short, it looks like Nick was not only speeding, but he had also been drinking.
In my personal opinion, he's totally screwed. I don't want to go into a long rant here about how he's a spoiled brat who was allowed to indulge in wild dreams of being a race driver, because this is not just about Nick being allowed to act like a spoiled brat - it's also about Nick not being taught to face responsibility for his actions. Nick's family is not only enabling his irresponsible behavior, they are also teaching him to act like a coward, and trying to cover up his guilt.
In a statement issued yesterday, Nick's team has implied (in fact, they pretty much came out and said it) that John Graziano - the man that was in the front seat of Nick's Toyota Supra when it crashed on August 26th and is now lying paralyzed and almost brain dead in the hospital - is to blame for his own condition on account of the fact that he was not wearing a seat belt. And yes, that's pretty low - blame it on the (almost) dead guy - but it doesn't seem to be working. You see, the police has revealed that Nick was not only going way too fast, he was also drunk. Great news for the Hogans, isn't it?
Nick Bollea is expected to be transported to the Pinellas County Jail in North Clearwater, Florida. Prior to the accident, it has been reported that he was racing his Toyota Supra against a Dodge Viper but eventually swerved off the road and hit a 25-ft.-tall palm tree in downtown Clearwater, Florida. That's right: he was drunk and he got into a race with another car. I really can't see how he can avoid taking the blame for his actions, and it looks like he's in for some serious jail time. In the end, there's no getting around the fact that he is to blame for condemning a 22-year-old Marine to a fate worse than death, and justice needs to be done. Stay tuned, and we'll keep you up to date with all the news.
