Hugh Jackman is more than just a very talented actor: besides being able to do anything from Broadway plays to big screen dramas and, of course, action movies and musicals, he’s also very willing to please both his fans and his bosses.

Invited on BBC Radio One the other day to promote the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” in which he resumes his role as the mutant Wolverine, he agreed to do a bit that would offer fans an idea of how “Wolverine the Musical” would sound like if anyone ever thought of bringing it to the stage.

You will find it embedded below.

The song is actually from “Les Miserables,” and Hugh performed it in 2012’s blockbuster that also cleaned up the entire awards season, including the Oscars. However, you probably didn’t know that “Who Am I” could also be applicable to Wolverine.

Below, Jackman sings his heart out, asking himself out loud who he is: is he Hugh or is he Wolverine, and, more importantly, where does one stop and the other begins?

There are times when Jackman can barely stop laughing but, to his credit, he does his best to make the musical performance a convincing one, despite the ridiculous lyrics. Sadly, he doesn’t get an answer to his burning question but, at the very least, he gets to plug his new movie.

“Days of Future Past” is scheduled for theatrical release on May 23.
