Hugh Jackman has just proved that not only is he a true daredevil, but also that he’s the type of guy for whom the show always goes on, even if something goes bad. After a spectacular entrance, Hugh hurt himself – but kept rolling.

The Hollywood Reporter says Jackman flew to Australia to be on Oprah’s special show now being shot there, “Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure.” He chose to make a special entrance – but miscalculated the steps.

The actor zip-lined into the Sydney Opera House but, THR says, pulled on the brakes later than he was supposed to and hit his head on a prop. He got a black eye and perhaps a headache too, but he continued with the show, much to his credit.

“Jackman was making a dramatic entrance on a flying fox – a heavy-duty wire set with a harness and handle assembly that slides on wheels – when he hits the brakes too late and hit some light rigging,” THR says.

While he was bleeding, the injury wasn’t that serious as to render him incapacitated. “He was able to descend, saying that it was worse than playing rugby,” THR notes.

“The Wolverine star was removed from the set bleeding from underneath his right eye. Winfrey suspended taping for the show for about 10 minutes to ensure that Jackman received proper medical attention,” the e-zine says.

After Jackman had a doctor look at him, he returned for the taping – and even found it in himself to do a little musical number, as previously scheduled.

“He later returned and carried on with his scheduled interview segment, sporting an adhesive bandage over the wound and a fresh, black eye but appearing otherwise unshaken,” THR says.

“In an exhibition of true show-must-go-on spirit, Jackman also participated in a musical production number to close the show,” the same e-zine says.

Below is a video of Jackman’s entrance and how it ended on a rather sour note – the video also shows the actor holding a handkerchief to his face and with a bandage under the eye, when taping resumes.
