Hugh Hefner has recently credited the magazine he has started in college with freeing women from the moral and obedient image which has restricted them for generations.
In his opinion, Playboy has done a lot of good to women.
"Twenty years ago, Playboy was perceived as a chauvinist publication. Today the rabbit symbol has been embraced by women as a form or their own personal sexual empowerment. That has been one of the great blessings for me, because I have always felt that the sexual revolution was not just for guys", Hefner said.
"The major beneficiaries were women, because historically it was women who had to live this unreal life in which they were expected to be the keepers of the moral traditions.
The guy could pretty much do what he wanted to do, and women couldn't. And it came with the whole notion of good girls and bad girls and original sin. All that religious heritage is very hurtful. So I think sexual liberation goes hand in hand with female emancipation", the famous publisher added.
Hugh Hefner has recently confessed he wants to be buried next to Marilyn Monroe, at Los Angeles' Westwood Cemetery, where Dean Martin, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Minnie Ripperton are also buried.
For the 79-year-old Playboy mogul, the diva is "the major sex symbol of the 20th century".
"My dear friends Mel Torme, Buddy Rich and Dorothy Stratton are buried in Westwood Cemetery. When I found the vault next door to Marilyn was available it seemed natural", Hefner told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper.
Meanwhile, the Playboy team have come up with the cleverly named Playboy Bodcast, an offer which is targeted at video iPod users. The Bodcast will include a joke of the day, delivered by a Playboy Bunny, the Ask Hef feature and some advice from the Cyber Girls of the Month.
