Harmonix is getting ready to rock your music download list, in anticipation of the launch of its upcoming Rock Band 2. Just take a look at the list of albums it plans to release in the near future if you're not convinced.

A new Entertainment Weekly online article says that Harmonix is preparing to get out some very big and interesting music in the near future. The list features albums such as Jane's Addiction's "Nothing's Shocking", "Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?" from hard rockers Megadeth, Stevie Ray Vaughn with "Texas Flood", "The Colour and the Shape" from Foo Fighters and the classic "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" from veterans Red Hot Chili Peppers along with a Best of album of No Doubt tracks.

Rock Band usually gets song packs as downloadable content and not whole albums. When the ones mentioned above get released, they will more than double the number of full music albums that you can play in Rock Band. The pricing has not been announced, but probably most of the content will come down to as little as 0.99 dollars a track.

At the moment, it seems that the above mentioned albums will be part of Rock Band 2, but Harmonix will also make them available for download, targeting those Rock Band players who are not interested in getting the new game.

Earlier in the month, the developers also mentioned that songs which are currently downloaded and playable in their first game would be available in Rock Band 2 as playable tracks. All the user needs to do is to get a small update and then shell out a few bucks to Harmonix so that his tracks will get converted.

Paul Degooyer, who is representing Rock Band publisher MTV Games, said that "We're surprised by how many people opted to get full albums. But it’s a good value proposition. Talk about something that’s been lost and forgotten".
