Chinese company Huawei has already confirmed that it will launch a new Android smartphone later this month at Mobile World Congress 2013, in Barcelona, Spain.

Dubbed Huawei Ascend P2, the smartphone will boast a 4.7-inch full HD (1080p) display, along with 2GB of RAM and 1.8 GHz quad-core processor. However, the folks over at MyDrivers have learned about Huawei’s plans to launch a smaller version of Ascend P2.

Following Samsung’s model, Huawei will release an Ascend P2 Mini smartphone, which will pack a smaller 4.0-inch HD (720p) and a slightly downgraded 8-megapixel rear photo snapper.

Aside from these changes, Huawei Ascend P2 Mini will come with the same features as the standard Ascend P2 model.

No word on pricing options and availability, but according to the latest rumors, the Ascend P2 will be cheaper than the Ascend D2 model.
