Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei is reportedly considering the launch of a new flavor of its Ascend P6 smartphone, one that would land on shelves with the pure Android experience loaded on top, new reports on the matter suggest.

“We are working with Google to analyse the possibility of bringing out a Huawei Ascend P6 with Google Edition,” Kevin Ho, president, Handset Product Division at Huawei, said speaking to Pocket-lint.

Made official only recently, the Huawei Ascend P6 is one of the thinnest smartphones running under Google’s Android operating system, packing a 4.7-inch touchscreen display and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor inside.

Powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the handset was made official with Huawei’s Emotion UI loaded on top, and should arrive on shelves in Europe in July, after landing in China this month.
