Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei wants to be among the first vendors out there to bring to the market a smartphone packing a true 8-core CPU, and the company has already confirmed some plans on the matter.

To be more precise, Huawei President Xu Xin Quan took it to Weibo to announce plans for the launch of a certain Ascend P6S smartphone that will be powered by the aforementioned CPU, GizChina reports.

The upcoming device will boast an updated flavor of Huawei’s own K3V2 chipset, which will be one of the first in the world to be able to fire up all of its 8 cores at the same time.

Furthermore, Xu Xin Quan confirmed that Huawei’s CPU would arrive with integrated 3G capabilities, and that it has been optimized for low energy needs, so as to deliver long battery life. Unfortunately, the Chinese company did not provide additional info on Ascend P6S’ specs.
