Huawei Technologies has launched its latest customized terminals for operators which are the world's first HSUPA USB modem and U120, a stylish 3G handset that has been optimized for music enthusiasts with active lifestyles.

The devices were unveiled at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, under the theme "customization, partnership and value".

The stylish U120 is an entry-level device that will help mobile operators promote drive further development of the 3G market through raising the appeal of their 3G services and applications.

The mobile phone was designed with music enthusiast users in mind and sports many interesting features that were up until now found only in high-end more expensive handsets. Mobile operators that Huawei has helped expand their 3G services include Vodafone, Hutchinson, Telefonica and SFR.

"Huawei has always been focused on providing innovative solutions to meet the needs of operators worldwide," commented Mr. Guo Ping, president of Huawei Terminal Business Unit. "These stylish terminals provide them with the means to deliver specific services to their customers which will in turn help them to increase their Average Revenue Per Unit (ARPU)."

Another of Huawei's products, the E270 modem, is able to support high-speed downlink packet access of up to 7.2 Mbps and a HSUPA transmission rate of up to 2MBps. It was engineered to deliver a wide variety of data service applications to business users.

The Huawei U120 music phone is expected to be a great success around the globe. Coming with a stylish design, it includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, 1.8 inch 262k color display, MicroSD card slot for memory expansion, Bluetooth for connectivity and support for a wide variety of multimedia file formats.
