14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei seems to be prepping multiple handsets that are due for release in no time. The Chinese company is poised to host a media event on April 15, during which we expect to see its P8 flagship make a grand debut into the wild.
Huawei abstained from releasing the flagship model at MWC 2015, for fear of being overshadowed by Samsung and HTC, who were there to unveil their latest models, the Galaxy S6 and One M9.
Anyway, word on the street would have us believe Huawei won’t launch the P8 flagship alone, but alongside a toned-down version, which we’re currently calling the P8 Lite.
The handset will maintain the general look of the higher-end P8, but it will boast less advanced specs and will be sold for a more affordable price.
The phone has received certification from TENAA in China, and even if Huawei does not introduce the device at the April 15 event, it will certainly make it available at some point in the future.

As it’s visible in the images, the phone will be made available in two color versions, black and white, and will boast a sleek metal body.
The leakster who posted the images on Twitter also disclosed that the P8 Lite would have dual-SIM support and a €250 / $270 price tag without a contract.
The current hearsay indicates that the new Huawei P8 Lite will arrive with a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The powerhouse of the device will be a 1.2GHz Kirin 620 GPU from Huawei’s own garden fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage (we don’t know if the phone will have microSD).
Huawei will also be throwing in a 13MP/5MP camera combo. Also visible in the images are the extremely sleek bezels on the sides, which reveal a good-looking display.
The phone measures 7.7 mn / 0.3 inches in profile and weighs 131 g / 0.28 lbs. Keep an eye out for the arrival of the Huawei P8 Lite in a few weeks.
