Chinese company Huawei has just unveiled the downgraded version of P8, which was made official last month along with the bigger P8 Max.

Even though we reported less than two weeks ago that Huawei P8 Lite went on sale in Europe for $300 (€260), the smartphone wasn't officially introduced by the handset maker.

Today, during a Premium South East Asia launch event in Bangkok, Huawei unveiled the cheapest smartphone in the P8 family, Indian Express reports.

Although Huawei did not mention when exactly the P8 Lite will be available for purchase and for how much, the smartphone is already on sale in some countries for the price we mentioned earlier.

When it comes to specs, Huawei P8 Lite is a pure mid-range Android smartphone. Even though it comes with a 64-bit octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 620 chipset, the processor is clocked at 1.2GHz.

Furthermore, the smartphone is complemented by a Mali 450 MP4 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. The P8 Lite comes with 16GB of storage inside, but users can further expand storage via microSD card slot.

It's been confirmed to arrive in India in Q3 2015

The smartphone offers dual-SIM support, which suggets that Huawei plans to launch it in several Asian markets, including China and India.

On the back, the Huawei P8 Lite packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

It's also worth mentioning the mid-range smartphone is powered by Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system with Emotion UI 3.1 on top.

Huawei P8 Lite drains energy from a 2,200 mAh battery and offers a decent range of connectivity features, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS with AGPS, and NFC (Near Field Communication).
