Huawei Ascend Mate is currently the largest mobile phone in the world to run under Google’s Android operating system, and it seems that the company is also considering grabbing the title on the Windows Phone segment.

The company mentioned at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that it was working on a new Windows Phone 8 handset, one that would be similar to the Ascend Mate, which boasts a large 6.1-inch touchscreen display.

The info came from Product Manager Richard Bhudhikanok, Cnet reports, yet it was not accompanied by additional details on the mobile phone.

However, it seems that the smartphone might make an official appearance at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, since Huawei has already confirmed that it was planning the launch of two new “innovative” handsets there.
