Huawei is hot in the news these days, especially since the device-maker has just posted it ante-MWC 2014 video teaser, in which it lets viewers take a sneak peek at two new tablet models.

One of the slates we’re waiting to see at the event is the so-called iPad mini killer, the Huawei MediaPad X1.

And now a tablet with a 7-inch display code-named 7D-501u has received the blessing of the Chinese authority database, claims GSMInsider.

Apparently, some time ago Huawei's CEO hinted at the fact that a flagship tablet would see the light of day at MWC 2014, so it might as well be the MediaPad X1.

According to info from the Chinese authority database and previous leaks, the tablet is expected to arrive with a 7-inch display and HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels), a quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz (most likely a HiSilicon V9R1 developed by Huawei) combined with 2GB of RAM.

The tablet will also come equipped with GSM features and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Lovers of tablet photography won’t be disappointed, as the slate will pack a worthy 13MP rear camera and a 5MP frontal snapper.

Huwaei is also expected to unveil an 8-inch tablet, a smartphone and a smartwatch in Barcelona, so keep an eye out for them.
