Apart from the LTE feat, the other specs of the tablet fail to impress

Huawei came prepared with a full goodie bag for MWC 2014, so the company pulled the veil off two new tablets today. One of them is the 7-inch MediaPad X1 which can also be used as a phone.

The other one is the MediaPad M1 and boasts an 8-inch screen. As FoneArena notes, the tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel Huawei SWS display, which isn’t as impressive as the full HD screen you’ll be seeing in the MediaPad X1.

The slate draws power from a 1.6GHz quad-core processor (HiSilicon 910 Kirin), has a sensible 4800 mAh battery, dual front facing speakers, dual cameras (5MP on the back and 1MP in front) plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

What sets it apart from other tablets out there is that the MediaPad M1 is compatible with next-gen LTE networks (including LTE Cat4 which supports download speeds up to 150Mbps).

Furthermore, the tablet comes bundling the AirSharing technology, which enables users to share their screen and transfer images via cloud photo sharing.

If you were hoping to see Android 4.4 KitKat on the MediaPad M1, I’m going to disappoint you here and say the tablet runs on Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.0 based on Android 4.2.

The company is going to make the slate available in Q1 2014 across markets including Europe, Russia, China, Japan, Australia and Latin America.
