Chinese handset manufacturer Huawei officially introduced the Sonic, IDEOS X3 and MediaPad in India about a month ago.
However, the Android devices only made it to the Indian market today, so customers can purchase any of them via Letsbuy.
Huawei’s tablet, the MediaPad is now available for purchase for Rs 28,000 (525 USD or 395 EUR). The IDEOS X3 is retailed for Rs 9,990 (185 USD or 140 EUR), while the Sonic goes for Rs 8,990 (170 USD or 125 EUR).
Both Android phones are powered by Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, while the MediaPad tablet runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform.
There are little differences between the two Gingerbread phones, hence the small price gap, so it really is a matter of taste when it comes to IDEOS X3 and Sonic.
Each phone is equipped with a single core processor clocked at 600 MHz and pack 512 MB of RAM, 256 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). The Sonic comes with 160MB of internal memory as well.
Huawei U8510 IDEOS X3 has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 16 million colors and 320 x 480 pixels resolution, whereas the Sonic features a slightly larger 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with the same resolution and 262k colors support.
Furthermore, the Huawei Sonic also offers active noise cancellation with dedicated mic and a much better 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery that is rated by the manufacturer for up to 400 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.
Huawei MediaPad is a 7-inch tablet with no support for GSM voice communication. It packs 8GB onboard memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
On the back, the tablet sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, while on the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and features HSDPA support and HDMI port.
