Starting with tomorrow, October 15th, 2011, users in Singapore will be able to purchase a new Android-powered tablet PC in their country, namely the Huawei MediaPad.

The new device was unveiled to the world not too long ago, and has just been confirmed as set to hit wireless carriers and various retailers in Singapore tomorrow.

The new tablet PC will sport a price tag of $598 SGD (including GST) (around $470 USD / 340 Euros) when made available, a recent article on vr-zone reads.

The said price tag was put in place for devices purchased without a contract agreement. Singapore is one of the first markets in the world to receive the new tablet PC.

The new tablet PC hits shelves with Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system on board, and sports a 7-inch 217 PPI capacitive touchscreen display.

The new device is powered by a dual-core application processor with each core clocked in at 1.2GHz

According to Huawei, the new MediaPad device is their smartest, slimmest and lightest tablet launched until now. It is only 10.5mm (0.4 inches) deep and weighs in at 390g (0.86 pounds).

On the back, the new device features a 5-megapixel photo snapper that packs HD video recording capabilities. Moreover, it sports a 1.3MP camera on the front, which should prove a great option when it comes to video calling.

The specifications list of the new device also includes HSPA 14.4Mbps capabilities, along with Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth capabilities.

The new Huawei MediaPad tablet PC also arrives on the market with a number of 3 popular games pre-loaded right from the start.

Moreover, the Honeycomb OS flavor it runs under will offer users the possibility to enjoy access to other games and applications available for download via the Android Market, as well as to various Google Mobile Services, including Search, Gmail, YouTube or Maps.
