14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese handset maker Huawei unveiled several high-end Android smartphones back in February at the Mobile World Congress 2012, in Barcelona.
However, only a few of these devices are now available on the market, and those aren't even launched globally.
Huawei Ascend D quad is one of the smartphones that has been delayed constantly due to unknown reasons.
The last time the Chinese company postponed the launch of the Ascend D quad it said the smartphone will come this fall.
Today, the handset maker made another announcement confirming Huawei Ascend D quad will arrive in China in late August. Although the smartphone will be released in the Mainland first, Huawei plans to roll out the device globally.
According to CNMO, Huawei Ascend D quad will be followed by Ascend D quad XL, which will be released in China as well.
Unfortunately, there are no details on the phones' pricing options and exact launch dates, but we will know more in the near future.
Both handsets will be launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system onboard and quad core Huawei K3V2 processors clocked at 1.5 GHz. We're still not sure what GPU the chipsets will pack, but each smartphones have 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory.
In addition, Ascend D quad and Ascend D quad XL boast 4.5-inch IPS+ capacitive touchscreen displays that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and 16 million colors.
Other highlights of the phones include: 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls and Dolby Mobile 3.0 Plus sound enhancement.
The only difference between the two models is the battery. The Ascend D quad drains energy from an 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery, whereas the Ascend D quad XL features a high-capacity 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
