Chinese handset maker Huawei has just released two new high-end smartphones, which will initially be available in the Mainland, the Honor 3X Pro and Honor 3C 4G.

The former is an upgraded version of the Honor 3X that was launched in China last year in December. According to Huawei, the Honor 3X high-end smartphone sold 1.1 million units by last month, but since the smartphone has recently been released in India as Huawei Honor G750, we expect the number to increase.

Next in line, the Honor 3C 4G is the sequel to the Honor 3C, which was launched in the Mainland the same month. The Chinese handset maker has confirmed that it has sold no less than 3 million Honor 3C units, so a 4G version of the popular smartphone makes sense after all.

But let’s see what these two upgraded versions have that would make then worth buying. First of all, the Honor 3X Pro comes with the same 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, but it supports full HD (1080p) resolution, unlike the standard model that sports a HD (720p) display.

The smartphone is equipped with the same 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, Mali-450MP4 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. It also packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

The bad news is that Huawei Honor 3X Pro will ship with an older Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. Unfortunately, apart from the better display, nothing else has been changed inside the Honor 3X Pro in comparison with the standard model.

Huawei Honor 3X Pro will be available for pre-order beginning today for 1698 yuan outright, which is about $270 or €200.

The second smartphone announced by Huawei, the Honor 3C 4G has slightly more upgrades than the Honor 3X Pro. First of all, as the name suggests, the Honor 3C 4G comes with support for 4G technology.

In addition, the smartphone is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Huawei Kirin 910 processor, instead of the MediaTek CPU included in the standard model. Moreover, the new version will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and Emotion UI 2.3 on top.

As cnbeta.com points out, there will be two versions of Honor 3C 4G available on the market, each with different amounts of memory. The 8GB model will come with 1GB of RAM and will be available for 998 yuan ($160 / €115) off contract, whereas the 16GB version will pack 2GB RAM and will go on sale for 1298 yuan ($210 / €150).

Huawei Honor 3X Pro and Honor 3C 4G are now available for pre-order in China and will go on sale beginning June 5. No word yet whether or not the smartphones will be available in other countries as well.
