It appears that Huawei has a pretty busy agenda, as the Chinese manufacturer has recently announced that Huawei Ideos X3, X6 and Huawei Boulder will soon be available in Singapore, while Indian customers will be able to purchase the Ideos X5, Ideos X2 and Ideos Chat starting June 13th

In attempt to strengthen its presence in the country, a Huawei official said that the company plans to invest USD 2 billion in India over a period of five years.

Although Huawei has already spent around USD 200 million on a research and development center that the company owns in Bangalore, more money will be invested in technology, manufacturing and business expansion.

The newly announced Android smartphones target the entry- to mid-entry market and make as competitive options for regional handset manufacturers who already dropped the handsets' prices considerably.

It is an opportune time for us to launch our new and exciting range of IDEOS smartphones whether its the X5, X2 or the Chat. We will continue to bring the latest, smartest and most technologically advanced handsets for our consumers at accessible prices,” Huawei Devices Marketing Director Anand Narang said at the event.

The Huawei Ideos X5 is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo platform and features a large 3.8-inch capacitive multi-touch display, along with a 5-megapixel camera.

It packs 512 MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The HSDPA-enabled smartphone is equipped with a 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM 75230 processor, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU.

Just like Ideos X5, the Ideos X2 operates Android 2.2 and sports an average 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and FM Radio.

The device features a smaller 3.2-inch capacitive multi-touch screen, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

The last on the list, Huawei Ideos Chat is a bit on the lowest side, as it features Android 2.1 (Eclair), a 3.2-megapixel camera and 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen display.

Huawei Ideos X5 is priced at Rs. 14,999 (about $335), Ideos X2 at Rs. 8,999 (about $200), while Ideos Chat can be purchased for Rs. 8,199 (about $185).
