Last week, leading provider of smart devices for wireless carriers around the world Huawei announced officially a series of upcoming devices for the Australian market, including the IDEOS X5 and X6 smartphones, both of which run under Google's Android operating system. Both new devices seem pretty impressive, that's for sure, and their specifications lists confirms that. IDEOS X5 is a 3.8-inch smartphone, while IDEOS X6 would pack a 4.1-inch display.
The Huawei IDEOS X5 should arrive
on shelves with Google's Android 2.2 operating system running on that 3.8'' capacitive display, as well as with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED Flash.
Moreover, it should include support for High-speed HSDPA/HSUPA, as well as WiFi b/g/n, Accelerometer, as well as built-in
GPS receiver with support for Google Maps, and for other applications from the Internet giant.
IDEOS X6 should land on shelves with HSPA+ 14.4Mbps and WiFi b/g/n connectivity options, GPS with a-GPS, Accelerometer, HDMI-out, HD Video Recording and Playback, and Dolby Mobile Surround Sound.
“More than half of all Australians are already using Huawei's
products, including mobile phones, tablets and wireless dongles, which are customized and rebadged by the operator,” said Mark Treadwell, Head of Devices Marketing, Huawei Australia.
“While we will continue to work closely with our key partners, Huawei will now also have a brand of its own.”
Both of these smartphone come with support for the wide range of services that Google offers to all Android users out there, as well as with support for applications available for download via the Android Market.
“This is just the beginning for Huawei. Tonight's event gave guests a small taste of what Huawei is all about. Our
devices do more than just connect,” said Mr. Treadwell.
“They give consumers the freedom to enjoy the latest technology, stripping away the barriers that have kept too many Australians from enjoying connectivity anywhere, anytime, any way they like.”
