Chinese companies are rolling out new smartphone models like there’s no tomorrow, but if you happen to have become a fan of these devices, we have good news for you.

As we already told you not so long ago, popular handset maker Huawei is gearing up to launch a new high-end device.

Huawei Honor 6 Plus' back camera is pretty unique

The new product is currently being dubbed the Huawei Honor 6 Plus and what sets it apart from the slew of Android smartphones currently on the market today is the fact that it is expected to arrive with a dual camera on the back.

This means users will be able to capture 3D videos or take advantage of a refocus feature. If you’re already curious to see how it will translate into photography, we’re happy to report that the first samples have already leaked online (as seen at Giz China).

There aren't a whole lot of gadgets capable of achieving this feature on the market today, so that makes the Huawei 6 Plus very special.

We’re going to take the opportunity here to remind you about another product that has the ability to refocus a shot, the Lytro Illum camera.

The shooter takes advantage of light field technology which allows Illum to capture not only the color and intensity of the light, but also this direction.

This translates into the camera being able to refocus an image after shooting it and create a parallax effect too, where the perspective can be slightly shifted, like in the case of a 3D camera.

Well, it can be said that the Huawei 6 Plus will arrive with similar capabilities, which is pretty amazing considering we’re dealing with a smartphone here.

Yes, dual rear cameras have been spotted with other products, for example the HTC M8 or Coolpad’s latest flagship device, and now Huawei will jump on the same bandwagon. And you can easily see this by taking a look at the first leaked samples.

Honor 6 Plus rumored specs roundup

We also know that the Honor 6 Plus will come boasting a 5.5-inch full HD form factor (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display and take advantage of an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz fitted with 3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card to 64GB).

The Honor 6 Plus will arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, although Android 5.0 Lollipop would have been sweeter.

If the prospects of this new phone are getting you all excited, you should know you don’t have long to wait. Huawei is reportedly expected to introduce the new handset on December 16.
