Chinese handset maker Huawei has just launched yet another budget-friendly Android smartphone, the Glory 5C. As the name suggests, the handset is part of Huawei’s Glory series of smartphones, and for the time being, it’s only available for purchase in China.

As GSMDome points out, Huawei priced the Glory 5C at only 599 yuan outright, which is about $97 or €72. It’s unclear when exactly the handset will go on sale, but considering its low price and more than decent specs, it should become popular very fast.

In fact, Huawei Glory 5C has the potential to exceed Honor 3C’s sales in China, and for those unaware, the latter sold out in a matter of several minutes every time it was put on sale online.

There aren’t any official photos showing the handset yet, but we expect Huawei to fix this in the next couple of days. The Glory 5C will first go on sale in China, but we don’t rule out its availability outside the country later on, especially if the smartphone sells well enough.

Moving on to specs, Huawei Glory 5C may be priced as a budget-friendly smartphone, but it does come with mid-range features, which is one of its strengths.

The smartphone is armed with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, and to ensure the price remains low, Huawei decided to go for a MediaTek MT6582 chipset inside.

Another selling point of the device would be the fact that it comes with 1GB of RAM instead of 512MB, which means it will run most of the apps and games in the Google Play Store.

If these features did not yet convince you that Huawei Glory 5C is really worth the money, then you should know the smartphone boasts an enhanced 8-megapxiel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

Also, on the front, there’s a no less impressive 5-megapixel camera for video calls and self-portraits. Even though the Glory 5C comes packed with only 4GB of internal memory, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via the microSD card slot.

It’s also worth mentioning that Huawei’s newly revealed smartphone sports a more than decent 5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB connectivity options.

The only downside might be the fact that it will ship with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but hopefully, Huawei will be able to release a KitKat update in the not so distant future.
