It might be the same device we reported on earlier this week, Glory 4

Chinese company Huawei has already confirmed that it will launch an Android smartphone powered by MediaTek’s octa-core processor sometime in the coming weeks.

One of company’s execs hinted that the upcoming device would be launched in China and will be more powerful than the Xiaomi Red Rice, but within the same price range.

For those unfamiliar, Xiaomi’s handset is priced at $130 (€95) outright and comes with a quad-core processor provided by MediaTek, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

It also sports a 4.7-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating. Other highlights of the Red Rice include 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and dual-SIM support.

Although it’s not that hard to beat the above hardware configuration, Xiaomi’s Red Rice smartphone is crazily priced and any other company would have troubles launching a better device for an even lower price.

Although there’s no telling how much Huawei’s device will cost, at least we know that it will pack one of the most powerful CPUs soon to be available on the market.

TechRadar reports that an unannounced Huawei G750 has just been spotted in some live pictures coming directly from China via MyDrivers blog site.

The source of the leak also posted a screenshot that shows some of the phone’s under the hood specs, which somewhat confirms that it’s powered by MediaTek’s new 1.7 GHz MT6592 System on a Chip (SoC), featuring “world's first true octa-core mobile platform.”

Aside from that, the screenshot also reveals that Huawei G750 will boast a large 5.5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, as well as dual cameras (13-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera).

Rumor has it that the phone will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. It’s unclear if Huawei G750 is the same device as Glory 4 / Honor 4 that we reported on earlier this week, but everything points in that direction. Stay tuned for more on this.
