Huawei’s representatives are very disappointed because they were banned from participating in the development of Australia’s national broadband network (NBN). Even more so, as officials failed to reveal the reasons behind the decision.

The company’s chairman for Australia, John Lord, revealed his disappointment before a parliamentary committee at the end of last week, The Australian reports.

He highlighted the fact that they weren’t told why they wouldn’t be allowed to participate in the project and they were not given the chance to answer the concerns which may have led to the decision.

Lord fears that the decision might affect other Chinese companies that want to do business in Australia.

While Australian officials didn’t reveal the motives for their decision, it most likely has something to do with the rumors which claim that China is planting backdoors into the devices that local companies commercialize worldwide.
